Beef and Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Sesame seeds and rice to serve

Instructions

  1. 1Whisk soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch slurry together.
  2. 2Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok over high heat. Sear beef in batches, 1-2 min per side. Set aside.
  3. 3Add remaining oil. Stir-fry garlic and ginger 30 seconds.
  4. 4Add broccoli with 2 tbsp water. Cover and steam 2 minutes.
  5. 5Return beef. Pour in sauce. Toss everything until sauce thickens and coats.
  6. 6Serve over rice, garnished with sesame seeds.
